The Quincy Elementary Schools are moving to a Kindergarten Slow Start the first five days of school. This will allow teachers to support new incoming students in a smaller group setting, relieving anxiety, getting to know students, and teaching them classroom and school routines. We will also be conferencing with each kindergarten student.

 

During the first 3 days of school, August 28th, August 29th, and August 30th, 2024, teachers will schedule a conference time during these days to meet with you and your child. This is an opportunity for the teacher to learn more about you and your child.

You will receive your conference time and date from the school office mid-August. Kindergarten students will not be coming to school on these three days except for their conference time. If you have a child in first through twelfth grade, they will begin school on August 28th .

During the second week of school, on September 3rd and 4th, kindergarten students will be split into two groups. One group will go to school on the 3rd and one group will go to school on the 4th . The office will contact you in August to let you know which day your child is scheduled to attend. September 5, 2024 will be the first full day of school for all kindergartners.

We look forward to this coming school year. All your conference information for the first two weeks of school will be sent out by the office in August. Please watch for this information.

Las escuelas primarias de Quincy estan practicando el Kindergarten Slow Start, un inicio lento para estudiantes del kinder durante los primeros cinco dfas de clases. Esto permitira a los maestros apoyar a los nuevos estudiantes entrantes en un entorno de grupos mas pequenos, aliviando la ansiedad, conociendo a los estudiantes y ensenandoles rutinas escolares y de clase. Tambien tendremos conferencias con cada estudiante de kindergarten.

Durante los primeros 3 dias de clases, el 28, 29 y 30 de agosto de 2024, los maestros programaran una conferencia durante estos dias para reunirse con usted y su hijo. Esta es una oportunidad para que el maestro aprenda mas sobre usted y su hijo.

 

Recibira la hora y fecha de su conferencia en la oficina de la escuela a mediados de agosto. Los estudiantes de kindergarten no vendran a la escuela durante estos tres dfas, excepto durante el tiempo de conferencias. Si tiene un hijo entre primero y duodecimo grade, comenzara la escuela el 28 de agosto.

Durante la segunda semana de clases, el 3 y 4 de septiembre, los estudiantes de kindergarten se dividiran en dos grupos. Un grupo ira a la escuela el dia 3 y el otro grupo ira a la escuela el dia 4. La oficina se comunicara con usted en agosto para informarle que dfa esta programado que asista su hijo. El 5 de septiembre de 2024 sera el primer dia complete de clases para todos los nines de kindergarten.
