Our Mission and Vision
Vision: As a compassionate school, Mountain View Elementary seeks to recognize all students as unique individuals while providing an atmosphere that supports each child’s ability to achieve to their full potential.
Mission: Mountain View Elementary provides a positive and secure atmosphere that nurtures the academic, emotional, physical, and creative growth of our students to become confident life-long learners and respectful individuals.
Mountain View Elementary is pleased to share with you an overview of the 2016-17 school year. It is important to share this information with parents and community, our partners in education. Included is not only student achievement but a review of our efforts toward providing students with a quality education that will enable them to be successful in the twenty first century.
The school is a wonderful facility that offers students in preschool through 3rd grade many opportunities. Mountain View is under construction with the addition of a large gymnasium, additional bathrooms and community access. We expect completion of this project in November of 2017. In addition our students enjoy our cafeteria, music room, enrichment room, and library . The outdoor facilities include a play area, a brand new play equipment structure and large playfields. Eight portable classrooms have been added to the campus to accommodate the growth in the Quincy School District. We are currently remodeling our previous Junior High building to open as Ancient Lakes Elementary in Fall of 2019. At that same time, our Quincy school district sixth, seventh, and eighth graders will move into our old high school building as Quincy Middle School and our high school students will move into a beautiful new Quincy High School complex just north of Mtn. View.
In addition to the daily classroom programs, the Mtn. View facility is sued by local community groups for after school activities. The excellent condition and maintenance of the building reflects the sense of pride our staff, parents, and students feel for their school.
